Sorensen Design Enters 3 Stunning Designs For The 2024 BDAA Awards
We’re thrilled to announce we’ve entered three exceptional projects in the 2024 Building Designers Association of Australia (BDAA) Awards! These home designs reflect our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design innovation, functionality, and aesthetic excellence. This year's entries highlight our team's dedication to creating inspiring and sustainable living spaces that meet the evolving needs of modern families.
The BDAA Awards celebrate the finest in Australian building design, recognising projects that showcase outstanding creativity, sustainability, and technical skills. By entering the designs below, we’re celebrating our design team's diverse capabilities and ability to transform our clients’ visions into reality.

New Residential Buildings ($2.0m to $2.99m): Foreshore Drive, Corlette
Our Foreshore Drive design is a testament to luxury living, perfectly blending modern design with breathtaking natural surroundings. This residence, built by GTS Constructions, is a luxurious, functional, and private retirement holiday dwelling that caters to three generations of a family.
Located in the picturesque suburb of Corlette, the home seamlessly integrates with its north-facing waterfront reserve, providing a serene and scenic retreat. We have also entered it into the 2024 Housing Industry Association (HIA) Awards!
Expansive glass walls and strategically placed windows maximise the stunning waterfront views, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. The spacious open-plan layout also fosters a sense of freedom and connectivity, perfect for family living and entertaining guests.
Residential Alterations / Additions (up to $500,000): Bay Hues
Bay Hues represents a unique residential masterpiece. This project exemplifies how thoughtful alterations and additions can create a functional, beautiful space, meeting client requirements and enhancing everyday living.
The project entails renovating a unique dwelling originally designed by Sorensen Design and Planning in 2010. The renovation aims to enhance the property's functionality and aesthetics, focusing on creating a luxurious workspace and additional living areas without compromising the existing design, which capitalises on west-facing views.
The clients sought to adapt their home to suit their evolving needs, particularly to facilitate full-time remote work.
New Residential Buildings ($1.0m - $1.5m): Cordeaux Abode, Mittagong
The Cordeaux Abode in Mittagong offers an exquisite blend of style, comfort, and innovation. This design captures the essence of modern living in a picturesque setting.
This intelligent design layout maximises space efficiency and functionality, catering to the diverse needs of modern families. Incorporating advanced insulation and energy-saving technologies, this home offers reduced energy costs and a smaller carbon footprint.
Meanwhile, clean lines, modern materials, and a cohesive colour palette create a visually striking, warm, and inviting home. Flexible living areas and multipurpose rooms provide the adaptability required for evolving family dynamics and lifestyle changes.
